Why target Parents?

We've deployed the PLATER model of the Education ecosystem as in:

Learners: scholar can be anyone seeking knowledge, anywhere, anytime.
Academy: space where learning occurs eg school, fireplace, skilling centre.
Teachers: supervisor who facilitates the lifelong learning process.
Edupreneurs: service providers who support the learning cycle.
Regulators: strategists who plan for the family sector.

10 Roles of a Parent

Who is a Parent?

A parent is the primary guardian of a child who has powers of attorney over the child. God designed the family to have two parents (father and mother) to complement each other raising the children. In Africa, the death of a father is similar to a death sentence. However, there is a looming crisis of pseudo-orphans who are growing up in homes with absent parents. A parent can be biological, adoptive/legal, professional, grandparent or step-parent.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR 26.3) says: “Parents have a prior right to choose the kind of education that shall be given to their children”.
National Constitutions worldwide provide: “for the rights of parents, especially in the matter of infrastructure establishment, quality of education, morals and financing education of their children”, and noting that family business and poverty affect education opportunities and quality.
